DIY Diwali Decor - Easy Flower Rangoli

Diwali is  here with all it's hustle and bustle - the festival of lights! There's so much to rush about and finish off in our busy schedules. Most of the times we can't find enough time to make that coveted rangoli in the last moment. Don't worry, I have just the right idea for you :D

A paper floral rangoli - easy to make and prepare in advance so that there are no rues on the auspicious day. Let's start with a smile.

Things needed -

1. Some crepe paper/colourful tissue paper/ wrapping paper
2. Sliver craft paper or a Silver/Golden paper plate(big)
3. Some sequins/ golden bead strings
4. Craft glue
5. Stapler
6. A pair of scissors

First let us start by making some paper flowers. For that, I have taken yellow, red and orange crepe paper and cut it into 2" strips. Red strips are a bit smaller.
Take one strip at a time and fold it into half. Then fold it again so that you get a square in the end.
Cut a circle out of it. Repeat for all the colours.
Take 4 circles of each colour and arrange them on top of each other, like this,
Staple in the center.
Make small cuts on the edges. This step is optional.
Now, separate the circles and crumple upwards one by one.
Lovely effect! So let's make some more.
I have taken a round piece of cardboard for the base.
Cut the center part of the silver paper plate and glue it on the cardboard piece.
Let it dry. In the meanwhile, let's cut out some leaves from a green craft paper.
Cut the green sheet into smaller strips and draw the outline of a leaf. Cut along that outline. Make some more.
Add glitter on them.
Now take the base and stick these leaves around the circle towards the edge.
After that stick the flowers around, in between the leaves.
Add some sequins in the center, like this
Stick the golden ball chain around the sequins.
Add some more sequins to your liking. Let it dry and place a diya (lamp) in the center to complete the look :D
Relish your creation :)
Another one you can try making is the one with a lotus flower as the center piece.

Wish you a happy and prosperous Diwali :)
